CTBO is pleased to
announce that their recent show in Hackensack, NJ was a success. We met many
new teddy bear enthusiasts and were pleased to be welcomed into the
collectible Doll/Teddy Bear community. Doris of Dumont, NJ was the winner of
the drawing for the Free Bunny. Many people participated in the drawing and it
was fun for all. CTBO will be doing other Teddy Bear Shows, so please keep
checking here for future dates, times and places.

Arctophile - A person who collects bears; from the Greek words "arcto", bear, and "philos", lover. Although Teddy Bears have been around for 100 years, the term was not coined until the mid-1980's. Teddy bear collecting did not become the phenomenon it is today, until the late 1960's, when actor, Peter Bull, asked the audience of the "Today" show for interesting teddy bear stories. Within one week, he received over 2,000 letters! He went on to write the book, "Bear With Me", launching his career as ambassador for the Teddy Bear.
